"Bloodkin: Nightfall" is now available to read on the Bloodkin Website!

It's finally here, and I couldn't be more excited! Thanks to the talents and efforts of my prose pal Tavo, the first Bloodkin tie-in story is finished, polished, and on the site!

In case you didn't already know, "Nightfall" is set about a century before the events of Sins of the Mother, at the end of the civil war that resulted in the fall of the Alvitan Empire and the independence of Tanyara as we know it today. The story sees the remnants of the Imperial army in a desperate defense against the technologically superior rebel army while, behind everyone's back, Empress Pen Nelamba attempts to complete a very dangerous secret project.

The story is pretty hefty (about 14,000 words--that's almost a novella!), so on its page, it is separated into sections. That way, if you only have time to read a piece at a time, you'll be able to remember where you were and come back later! We've tried to make this absolute beast of a short story as reader-friendly as possible.

I can't stop expressing how grateful I am for Tavo Scholes and his willingness to work with me on this project. He put a lot of time and effort into it, and I'm honored that his writing is a part of Bloodkin and that I get to be the person to publish this tale to the world.

Please feel free to leave comments on this blog post or on my social media if you find any problems while reading the story, especially on mobile (which is harder for me to check myself). We'll work hard to make this as good an experience as possible for our readers.

As a final announcement for the weekend... Bloodkin: Sins of the Mother will begin releasing chapters towards the end of next month, with a new one dropping every month. I would love to do a more frequent schedule, but unfortunately--as many of you already know--my life circumstances make it difficult to maintain that level of quality output. I'd rather give everyone chapters I'm proud of once a month than a mess once a week, so I hope you're willing to be patient with me on this journey and give the comic a shot!

Everyone have a great weekend! The author and I hope you enjoy "Bloodkin: Nightfall"!
